Social Networking Safety

There are some great social blogs and networks out there. Of course there are also times when debates unfold and things get somewhat nasty. And as with all online stuff, there's the down right ugly. Social networking can be fun, a great way to stay in contact with friends, family and also meet others online. There are also some great Christian sites out there that are very well maintained and there's a lot less ruff talk and down right nasty posts and comments on the Christian sites. However and again, there are some intense scriptural and religious debates that do unfold.

I love blogs. I can share openly, place posts on various topics and also moderate the comments. Over the years I have had to reject only a small portion of the comments I have received. I have a forum that I finally had to literally moderate all registrations just to stop all the spamers, most of which were pornography sites.

I guess it boils down to the fact that there's the good, the bad and the downright ugly out there. Whatever your social networking likes and dislikes are, be wise and please safe guard your children from all the potential negative content.
