The bride of God responds only to romance, in the same way a woman cannot be forced or tricked into loving a man--she must be be romanced. There might be superficial surrender at first, but eventually her perception and conscience will kick in and the charlatan's methods will be exposed and damned. Heartfelt romance is the only way into the depths of her passion--the woman's and the church's. As with all parables, we can learn to romance our congregations by understanding the art of natural romance. The Bridegroom loves this illustration.
